After my Cantonese final exam one of my friends and I went to the airport to catch our flight to Seoul. We arrived late at night, so our first real day in the city was the next day. We met one of my friends from Korea who had previously studied abroad at UH, and she brought us around the city. We went to Lotte world Mall, where I was amazed to see how large it was. After she showed us around the mall and we explored a few shops, we went to see Seokchon Lake, which is right outside the mall. We saw Lotte World amusement park from outside, and then came across a stage where a performance of traditional Korean dance was happening. Apparently they do the performance every weekend, and my friend and I were amazed by the skills of the performers. We headed to a pork Korean BBQ place for lunch, where we ate delicious pork from Jeju Black Pigs.

After lunch she brought us to see the JYP Entertainment building, and we saw a guy in a black shirt with a hood quickly slip into the building. We then headed to Olympic Park, where we passed by the KSPO Dome. Apparently there's a concert there nearly every weekend, and my friend from Seoul had said that she had seen EXO there the previous week. As we walked by, we realized a Twice concert was taking place, and while the sound wasn't as good from outside as it would have been from inside the stadium, we could still hear the songs pretty clearly, so we listened to them perform two of their songs before continuing through Olympic Park. After the park we went back to Lotte Tower to go up Seoul Sky, where we were able to experience the night view of Seoul from both indoor and outdoor areas. Lastly we headed to Starfield Library, which was just as stunning in person as it is in the photos online. We went for dinner after, where I had Korean mandu, naengmyeon (Korean cold buckwheat noodles), and bulgogi kimbap.
