Malaysia: Day 2

The Batu Caves are Hindu shrines and cave temples it is dedicated to Murugan. It was my first time visiting a Hindu temple, and I was amazed by the vibrance and detail in everything. Apart from the temple aspects being so ornately and beautifully crafted, the caves themselves were also incredible. As I was standing in the main cave, I couldn't help but feel like it was one of the most impressive natural places I've ever seen. As I walked back down the colorful main stairs I saw even more monkeys than I had seen on the way up, including one monkey who ran to a man and two girls who were climbing up and stole the yellow soda can from the guy's hands and proceeded to begin drinking it. The next area I went to was a different cave which actually had two separate cave parts. It also had an area where I was able to watch a traditional dance. The two caves in this area were smaller than the main cave, but both stunning and delicately painted, with many statues displaying Hindu stories, as well. There was one other different cave, so I made my way over to that one in order to see what the last cave contained. On the way, I saw a monkey running through another part of the temple while carrying an abandoned flip flop. The final cave was my second favorite after the main cave. It was incredibly tall, and along the walls were statues and paintings displaying the story of a specific god. It had a large waterfall inside, as well as beautiful lighting.

After finishing at the caves I went to Aquaria KLCC, which was home to meerkats, otters, and penguins in addition to the range of unique fish, sharks, rays and other sea life. At night, I went to the restaurant at my hotel in order to see the view of both the Petronas Towers and the KL Tower.
