The Happy Valley Racecourse is on Hong Kong island and is a popular tourist attraction. We came late, at 9:45, so entry was free for us. There are 8 races, and it usually lasts from 7pm until 11pm. Many people also bet on the races, so I tried it as well. I bet on the final race, with HKD $10 ($1.28 USD) on each of the two horses I wanted to choose. I picked horse 2, with the best odds, and horse 12. Horse 2 wound up winning the race, so I won $11.50 ($1.47 USD). It's not a lot, but I enjoyed the experience. I plan on going back to watch the races again, ideally from a higher view so I can see more of the course.
