I went with my friend to Sai Kung, which is known for being one of the most beautiful areas in HK, though we found it a bit difficult to get to. After eating and exploring a bit, we saw a sign for a round trip ferry ride to Sharp Island for just $30 HKD, so we decided to go to the island. The boat ride was only about 10 minutes, but it was quite enjoyable. Upon arriving, we saw the tombolo connecting Sharp Island with Kiu Tau, another small island. The tombolo is made of sand and rocks, and it only accessible during low tides, so we decided to go to Kiu Tau before risking losing the opportunity. After crossing the tombolo we followed the path from the main part to the other side of the island, which was a fairly short walk. We then went out onto the rocks on the other side of the island, climbing on them and exploring a bit. As other tourists began to head back, we decided to head back as well, making our way back from the path to the tombolo, which was now gone. The water wasn't extremely deep, only coming up a bit past my ankles, but we had to walk through the water back to Sharp Island. Since I had worn sandals I just kept them on, not minding if they got wet since I knew they would dry, but my friend wound up taking off his shoes to cross back. We then went to view some of the volcanic rocks before making our way onto the main trail from one side of the island to the other. Due to time constraints of when the last ferry would leave the island, we were unable to go the entire path, but we made it about half way before needing to turn back.
