I went with two of my friends to Lamma Island, one of the other islands in HK. The atmosphere is entirely different from Kowloon and HK Island, which are both very busy. Instead, Lamma Island felt very calm and laid back, with a very heavy presence of nature. After arriving by ferry, we walked through an area with lots of seafood restaurants. We passed a small temple as we made our way to the path across the island to the other pier. Lamma Island has Kamikaze Caves from WWII, which were places where the Japanese had intended to hide speedboats. We passed one such cave and were even able to go inside it. We then continued on the path, passing a small beach before coming to a viewing pavilion, which is in the photo. After continuing some more we reached a larger beach, where we spent a more significant amount of time. One of our friends went for a quick swim, while I spent a lot of time looking around in the sand at the shells. There were many beautiful small shells, including many pink ones. Lastly we passed a few final shops on the way to the pier to return to HK Island, and I bought a sakura-cat themed necklace which I really liked.
